New Zealand is famous for its unpolluted ‘clean green’ environment, and we are fortunate to be able to source most of our herbs from local organic growers, thus maximising the purity and potency of our products. These include Echinacea & Manuka Honey (cornerstone ingredients of the Kiwiherb range), Ginkgo biloba and American Ginseng.
New Zealand is also renowned for its incredibly diverse range of plant-life, with many of these plants used by traditional Maori healers to treat ill health. The Kiwiherb range is unique in embracing the wisdom of Rongoa (Maori herbal medicine) with the inclusion of sustainably sourced New Zealand native herbs carefully selected for their time-honoured traditional medicinal uses.
We work closely with local iwi in areas of Northland, the Ureweras and the East Coast to ensure these plants are wildcrafted (collected from their natural environment) in a sustainable and ethically sound manner. These plants (Kawakawa, Hoheria, Horopito, Manuka and Tanekaha) have long been valued for their therapeutic actions and add unique healing properties to many Kiwiherb products.
